I'm so sick of buying water sprinklers. I spent $30 on the one on the right last Saturday and it wouldn't work this morning. What you see sitting here is last year's collection that I'm holding on to in hopes that perhaps Thomas will actually look at them and try to figure out what's wrong. It must be me! Something I do makes every one of them stop working correctly. DON'T have a clue, other than Saturday morning I was NOT in the mood for this!

In my house, a sure sign that summer is here is the constant hanging of hats on the staircase. AND, if it's not hats hanging, it's something else draped over the rail.

The friends have arrived for the summer...meaning they've been at my house all day. Or rather, outside, since I won't let them in, lol! ANYHOO...heard lots of noises and found them ON THE A/C unit. Took a quick picture for evidence later. HA! Then told them to get down now.

SO proud of Brandon - he pulled his last grading period up...enough to pass. We were thinking at the mid-term that he might fail Pre-Algebra. Not good, considering he's taken it before, but that was with the advanced class and another teacher's teaching style. He didn't finish the entire semester out in it due to our moving, so he had to repeat it this year. He was VERY upset about that...and as you can see...his grades reflected his complete lack of desire to do anything in that class. We have seriously been on his case all year, but something must have clicked when we said he might fail. Must have been something about having to retake it THREE times that shook him up?

Anyhoo...he was beyond glad that he pulled the grade up. We've been a bit anxious about it.

Let's hope next year he gets into the actual learning aspects of school a bit more. He's just not been a good student this year. Not for lack of discipline, though...considering he's been grounded the majority of the school year.

Love getting my junk mail catalogs in the mail. They make me happy to see new stuff, fresh ideas, cool color combos...just like them.

We finished the lattice work on one side of the deck (needed MULTIPLE angled cuts to fit the slope of the yard vs. levelness of the deck...plus a door) and then it started raining...so much for grilling out.

Thomas drove his boss to the airport and then got to drive the lease vehicle home this weekend. He enjoyed driving it, although gas mileage wasn't that great. I enjoyed the sun-roof.

Olivia follows me out the door each morning to water the plants...finds a 'hot' sunny spot and plops down. Every day...anytime.

Zachary ran up to me immediately when I arrived to field day and stuck this up in the air proudly. He won a 1st place ribbon for Hula Hoop. Everyone was amazed at how long he actually kept the thing going. He was SOOOOOOOO very proud!

Kaitlyn and I played hooky after the awards program for 2nd graders. We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast/lunch. She was being super funny and we had great conversation. Mommy/daughter time was great. Anyhoo - this is a shot of her shoving her pancakes in...like 5 bites worth. I won't show the next shot. AND - finally found my small camera. Great for times like this! Not so great photos, though...but they'll do the job!

I purchased flowers with my Mother's Day $. Glad to be able to do that without feeling guilty. Love my colorful flowers and love having them on my porch.

Since I talk about laundry so much...I thought you'd might like to see a typical laundry's day worth. Full bed full of folded laundry. This doesn't include the sheets that are being put on Kaitlyn's bed right now...or the towels that are in the dryer waiting to be folded. AND this pile doesn't include a blue-jean pile that is from the weekend laundry on a normal Monday. What you don't see in this picture is Thomas' and my pile of clothes as well as the socks. Fun, huh?

My mother gave me the 2 peach roses picked from her garden for Mother's Day. Teresa gave me the long stemmed red rose (that I cut down to make the 'bouquet') on Sunday as well. Love the smell and beauty of freshly blooming roses. Silky petals, fragrant scent. beautiful.

Made 'cards' that will be passed out at the ladie's meeting on Saturday for a Mother's Day breakfast. I won't be able to go, so I needed to get them finished early so that I could take them to my pastor's wife.

Kaitlyn's artwork that was framed and sold at the student art fair last Friday. Zachary's was adorable as well...

He just couldn't understand why we had to PAY for something that HE drew and made, lol!

Fruit from Whole Foods - yesterday's grocery shopping trip. Just another fruit pic...nothing more to say. I just like taking pictures of things like this. Perhaps one day I'll do something with them? Who knows.

Practice time for Zachary. He skips around. Never quite does what he's supposed to do, but he's learning and staying caught up. This time he was skipping ahead to the end of the book. And he could do it. So, I suppose that's okay.
